We are a friendly social group for unattached people, living in Greater Manchester, Cheshire and surrounding areas. Founded over 40 years ago, the group now has more than 200 members with over 200 events and activities arranged by the members for the members each year. The group is non-profit making, and aims to help mature unattached people widen their circle of friends whilst enjoying a variety of activities.

The Thursday Group meets at a pub (every Thursday, of course!). Our events include walks, table tennis, badminton, cycle rides, dining out, theatre and concert visits. Our complete programme is publicised in our bi-monthly Newsletter and on the Calendar page of this website. We have a few short UK holiday breaks each year and also skiing and walking holidays abroad.

None members interested in joining can attend upto two events, which must be organised through our membership secretary (see Contact section) so that you may be given event contact names and after that we hope you will want to become a member. It is easy to contact us, and details of how to join are on the Membership page. Annual membership is currently £36 (on a sliding scale depending on the month you join). There is a £3 discount if you don’t take a paper copy of the Newsletter.
